Good luck whyohe. Although many enjoy turkey hunting more than deer hunting they don't gobble here on the forum. To me, there is little that can beat the interaction between a gobbler and a calling hunter. Since I can't close the distance between me and the bird and have to depend on bringing it into shooting range I believe that I get more from the hunt. I have worked birds over an hour before they finally came in. If I was able I know that I would hear one and rush to close the distance and in doing so destroy half the fun. For the turkey hunter being unable to chase the birds is a pleasure plus.

any excuse for me to get into the woods is all i need.!! i worked this bird for 45 minutes. here in pa its illegal to "chase the bird. you can do a locate call and then position and wait but you cant chase the responding bird you must call him in!! amazing how many people don't follow this law. I've called several people in before but you are right it really gives you a sense of accomplishment when you can get them to come to you. and REAL frustration when they come and walk just out of range or out of sight but you can hear them.
