Hi guys: Check out this 9 point PA Flintlock buck I took last Thursday. He went about 175 lbs on the hoof, 21.5 inch spread, and Gross scored 141 B&C... Not bad for a back yard buck with the ol TC 50 cal Flintlock. I shot him at all of 35 yards as he was sneaking back into the trail leading to the swamp. Regards... Jim P.

Hi Whyowe:
Just using 90 grains of BP FFG and TC Maxi Hunter 350 grain bullets. I am sighted in at 50 yards, since the sights on my TC Hawken actually block out a deer at about 100 yards.
I played around with the Maxi hunter 275 grainers going up and down the powder scale from 90 to 120 grains, and even round balls with patches. But I get about 1.5 inch groups at 50 yards with 350 grainers.
It's strange, I hunted in many different states, and a few other countries. But I end up shooting my two biggest bucks in my life with muzzle loaders. I shot a 12 point 190 gross B&C two years ago in Illinois. Now I get lucky and pop this guy with my Flintlock. Ya just never know... ;D

nice. i have a PA hunter with a 1:66 twist so i have to use patch and RB. I've tried the buffalo mini ball but i could not get them to shoot. i have to use a .020 patch with a .495 RB and im getting 2.5 inch groups at 50 yards. i just put that "v" peep on and i like it better i still have to get use to it alittle more. i hope to get a grouping like yours some day with practice. i went out today and seen 8 deer but they didnt give any good shots. i had 3 all bunched up on the edge of a hill at 30 yards. all i needed was one to take 2 steps out and she took one step out and then went over the hill and the rest followed quickly after.
