This is just to let all of you old timers (like me) know that there is now an affordable modern-made copy of the old tube-type" telescopic rifle sight" available. Leatherwood Optics has just introduced a well built, crisp and clear, authentically designed copy of a Wm. Malcolm scope from the 1870 to 1880 era. And it sure makes it easy for tired old eyes to punch targets and ding silhouettes out there at long range. The scope will mount relatively easily on most BPCR using the existing dove-tail cuts for the front and rear sights. I just returned from a week trip to Texas, where I shot and hunted wild hogs with Jim Leatherwood. We mounted one of the scopes on his original .45-70 Sharps Borchardt...and the fun began. Those interested can go to my www.hpmuzzleloading.com website and take a look at the report I wrote. There is a link right at the top of my home page...or you can click on to the Leatherwood logo in the sponsor box at the bottom of that page. The Leatherwood "Wm. Malcolm" scope will retail for $419.00. Toby Bridges
