I recently purchased a H&R buffalo classic rifle. I removed the standard reciever sight and carefully inletted a Pedersoli vernier tang sight on the wrist of the rifle, as the reciever is to short to tap for the sight base. With Winchester brass, Fed. 215 primer, 61 grains of ffg,030 veggie fiber wad and a Paul Jones creedmoor bullet lubed with Sagebrush allox lube, the rifle has produced 1" groups at 100 yards. Has anyone else tested this rifle with black powder loads? I have heard rumors that they are able to shoot well to 300 yards or so. I am thinking about taking it hog hunting with a 405 gr. flat nose load...

A compression die will get you more powder in that case. I'm getting 70grs. of cartridge grade in mine with a 535gr. Postell without alot of compression and covering all grease grooves.
