The Tennessee statewide archery season opens this weekend! (sept 22) I'm rushing about, rinsing off the Summitt Viper climber. Checking deer cam, checking mineral licks for which one has most activity and when. I love the chaos, and the undecisiveness! It's been many months since I've watched the early morning woods come to life in the early morning. What a blessed experience! Kevin

:)I understand the anticipation. In 9 days, I'll be on my 4th annual AR archery bear hunt. I hope you are successful.

I hope to deer hunt for the first time soon, season comes in on Monday. When I have a day off and my back will allow I am ready to go. I have several great stand sites. Since I have never killed a deer with a bow my goal is humble. If it is brown, it is down! Really if I can't kill a wall-hanger I would actually prefer a yearling doe as they are the most tender eating.
Hey SW- How do them bears taste? Are they good eating? I have heard both positive and negative on the subject.

Dwight, They are very good. Must be cleaned immediately. They rapidly heat up and ruin the meat. The big ones aren't very good. I, too, look fwd to bow deer hunting. This Oct will be my 50th anniversary of deer bow hunting.

Good luck to both of you gentlemen. And yes Rifleman, during bow season, 'if it's brown it's down' is my motto as well. Als during muzzleloader season unless I'm watching for a certain one.
