Just how big do they get? I have been a taxidermist for nearly 35 years. And have seen as well as mounted my share of bobcat. Like the fabled 40 pound coon. tales run ramped about 50 + pound bobcat. But I have never actually seen one. I have had many come into the shop. that were reported to go 50 pounds. But when put on the scale they were in all reality in the 35 pound range. A Wile back I had a client who is also a guide bring one in that he bagged on a hunting trip in Colorado. It was skinned and salted when it arrived. So there was no way to weigh it. He had provided the measurements. So I had paid no real attention to the cat. The wife ordered the form for the cat on a regular monthly order. the other dat His project came up in the mounting order. So I put the hide in the pickle, and pulled the form. Oh MY I thought. this is a lynx form. Tina made a Mistake. Oh well the hide is in the pickle, and the form is here. I'll just have to alter it. Much to my surprise the hide fit the form well. This has to be the biggest bobcat that ever existed. I do not know its live weight. But here is a picture of it with My Springer Gwen. who last time at the Vet, weighed 58 Pounds. What do you think? Is it a record cat?

I've seen 1 live bobcat that I estimate to be about that size. I have no idea how much it weighs, because they are illegal to mollest in any way here in Indiana, or else that one would be in my trophy room. Most of the others I have seen I estimate to be in the 25-30 lb range.
