Welcome to the group Katherine. No you aren't breaking the rules. Where is Sun Wolf Farm located? How long have you been doing this type of volunteer work?
The PMU industry is much like the nurse mare industry in that there are many "unwanted babies" that need to be placed.
I bet that the PMU industry is declining now after that study that was done in 2002 (I believe that was the year). The doctors found that for women who are going through menopause (however still have all their organs intact) the use of hormones such as Premarin and Prempro had significant increase risks for cancer.
I only wish they had done this study both with those women and with women who have had hysterectomies. It would be interesting to see if the women who have had hysterectomies are at the same risks for cancer.
Some doctors think so and you really have to work with them to get them to write prescriptions for any type of hormonal therapy due to that study.

Katherine, Welcome to the forum, and certainly no rules have even been bent, not to mention broken. We all need to help find those wonderful foals homes and if your post here places just one it Will be well worth it.

Hello, Thank you for the Welcome. Sunwolf Farms (located in California) is a friend of mine who is putting on the fundrasier. She (Sunnie) has done a lot for these horses, so I am helping her out by spreading the word about these bracelets for her. I just started volunteering with this group, I helped my sister adopted a mare in foal from SOS Adoptions & Rescue after I met the mare I was hook on helping to save as many as possible. The PMU industry is going through a large cut back. The company that makes Premarin is cancelling contracts with the farms so ranchers have to sell their stock before they go broke caring for the horses. The fastest way to sell them is for sluaghter. After the foaling season there will be a lot more mares and foals for adoption through SOS. They will be working on filling trucks for September. My goal is to help fill those trucks. Here is the link to SOS Adoptions & Rescue members.shaw.ca/sosrescue/index.htmIF you can please help spread the word about these horses. Thank you very much, Katherine... Helping to save one soul at a time.
