13] Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: [14] But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Notice the 'th" at the end of the word "drinketh" the "th" indicates a continued action, as in continually drinking.
Just something to think about.

Funny you shuld mention these verses at this time. Today at church the preacher mentioned those very verses. His message today was how God promised us a "now". He never promised us a tomorrow and can't do anything about a past, but we continue to have a now as long as we live, and how Jesus was preparing that Samaritan woman for everlasting life.
Some of the key verses in todays sermon were John 4:23-24
[23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Matt 3:12 says Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
His meaning is that our life is spent in this unquenchable fire. It is during this time that we suffer. But God promised us that he would never put anything on us that we could not endure. We must believe God in this and trust in him as that is the only faith that will never waver. We humans often fall short and sometimes it's at a critical time in supporting one another, but God will always be there for us if we allow him in.
It's strange, but I felt like the sermon was directed particularly to me. I'm sure it wasn't, however it seemed that way. A friend of mine invited me to go to church with her and she noticed it too. She has been my confidante lately and she looked at me and said "God sent him here for you".

I like to remember these four words when things seem bad. "This too shall pass."
