Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).
Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.
And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

i had a co-worker ask me once how god can let bad things happen to good people. how can god let a christain woman be abused by an evil man. at first i was speachless, then the lord gave me the answer. i said that god gave us all the ability to choose the path we go down in life. we all have a choice. some people choose to be evil and some choose to live for jesus. we are not programed robots. it would be like you playing a game of chess with yourself, what would be the point.dave

heavy load, give him the example of Job. was he not called GODs friend? Satan questioned GOD saying that the only reason Job served him was because Job had so much. so GOD let satan take all that away EVEN his children and Job NEVER blamed GOD. So IMO its not GOD that does these things, HE lets them happen to prove to Satan that we can and will serve HIM with out HIS interfearance and HIS giving of gifts all the time. and WE make this choice of seerving HIM.
lets not forget Ecclsiastes 9:11 ... the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty the battle, nor the wise have the food,... nor do even thoes having knowledge have favor, because time and unforseen occurrances befall them all.

Yes, well said. I've made a copy of the Eccliasistes quote. I never thought about it that way.
