Rifleman I think that your book work will reveal that the King James version was just a translation into English of what the translators "THOUGHT' was the meaning of the various languages of the then known scriptures. Nothing is known if they were truly learned men or believers in Jesus Christ. Certainly King James was but that was many hundred of years after the event. We can debate this subject at length and change no minds. What we know as fact and what is simply beliefs and understandings are worlds apart. The only thing I know for sure is that I know little. I do know that views on religion are the seeds of separation and that divisions of opinion are at odds with what any religious book I have read teaches. One word can change everything. As in "Thou shalt not commit (admit) adultry.

As far as what we know, we either believe what Christ told Thomas or we dont. Blessed are those who have believed and not yet seen. If we as believers in Christ believe in the Death Burial and Resurrection, then the Holy Spirit lives within us. Period. As far as different religions and not wanting to take a stand. Well either Jesus was a liar or you believe in Him. He said to confirm this. The only way to the Father is through me. When questions by the Pharisees he replied that the whole text was all about Him. (meaning the Old Testament.) There is no gray area here, Christ was very clear about that. As far as the Word and Jesus, and the Creator. Read John 1:1 Luke in acts had this to say: Ac 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.
As far as litteral translations there are two The KJV, and the NASB. The NASB is an updated version of the ASB, The ASB was the translation from the Bishops Bible. The reason for the ASB to be updated is they found what is known as the dead sea scrolls, parts of the original text that were written by scribes. They found that some of the original meanings on singular and plural were different. And the ASB was updated to the NASB. All other bibles came from Alexandria and are not literal translations of scripture, However I dont feel the NIV is from the pits of hell and smell like smoke. The Gospel of Jesus is still the gospel and there are people that come to know the Lord from the Word of God that is preached and read from the NIV. They are still translating God's word in tribal languages so Natives can here the gospel and read the Word.

I have no quarrel with those who believe In Jesus Christ or otherwise. I do see the folly of using the bible as a means of proving its own teachings. I personally think that the bible is a good thing for humanity. Who can deny that the ten commandants are good laws to live by. I also have no quarrel with the Jewish people who do not believe that the Jesus Christ was the promised Messiah. We all know that the New Testiment tells that story and that believers will jump at any chance they have to support this belief. Your quotes are from this New Testiment and it is your right to stand up for what you believe. Your proof however is based on what is your personally believe and accept as truths from the New Testiment. It is very important for mankind to believe that death is simply a transition. Man cannot accept that he lives and then dies and rots and that is the end of it. We need to believe that there is some type of life after the physical death. Native Americans beleved that. Other cultures long before Christians begin the New Testiment teaching thought there was an afterworld. I will not post more on this particular thread because it is a no win debate that begin long before any of us were born and will continue after we die. I do have one question? If the Almighty Creator wanted the so called natives to know some great Truth would he not make that possible without depending on a group of people who cannot agree among themselves but for a short period? If in your opinion I am wrong then to you I am wrong. "Look at the Soldiers marching, they are all out of step except My Johnnie." Just a Mothers view or belief...............
