Linabug, I don't think there Will be any denominations in heaven. I also was raised as a Baptist and have visited several other denominations which include Methodist, Pentecostal, and churches with no denomination.
I feel if we live our life for God and do what he teaches us to do we won't go wrong.

This is something my grandfather has also told me over the years. He became a baptist when he was 40 something and lived for GOd everyday of his life. He was a good man. Even on his deathbed he prayed that God would help him from suffering as much as he would always feel relief even on the day he died he wasn't in as much pain as he had been eariler in life.He was a good rolemodel for me. I can only dream of the day I'll see him again in heaven.

"THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL HAS BEEN COMPLICATED BY RELIGION."
This quote really came home for me. I was raised in Baptist and Christian Union faiths. As an adult, I have gone to so many Protistant churches, cannot recount them all. Apparently, my true beliefs are too radical for any of them. Their religions are too complicated for me.........yet we're all supposedly reading from the same Bible, believing in the same Christ.

I am uncomfortable attending any denominational church because I believe that God is big enough, understanding enough, compassionate enough and wise enough to accept or deny on an individual basis. I cannot believe that all religions other than those based on Christ are doomed to an eternity in a so called everlasting fire of hell. I would feel wrong to profess that all but one faith is false beliefs. My belief in a nut shell is that all beliefs are good only to the extent that they agree with the facts in the end. It is so sad that more people have died because of opposing ideas regarding beliefs than all else. If you feel that my post should be deleted from this forum I understand that the minds and ideas of some are set in concrete. One comment was made that we all were attempting to get to the same place and read the same bible. Wrong. There are several bibles outside the traditional American Christian version. Nothing devides humanity so much as politics and religions. I am posting this well aware that many will shun me and my posts in the future. For that reason let me assure you that on several occasions I have risked my life so that each individual in America could make this individual choice. I look back and think that even that was a form of love.

pentecostal. i come from a long line of holy rollers. my grandmother was a retired pentecostal preacher. my grandfather built the churches and grandma pastored them. i believe they started four churches over their years in the ministry. this was back in the 50's and men from the assembly's of god churches were strongly opposed to female preachers. when they would tell my grandma this she would reply "brother, the devil don't like us either". she was licensed then and held it untill she retired back in the 80's. i have two uncles who are pentecostal preachers. one in arkansas and the other in oregon. being 42 years old i haven't gone to church on a regular basis since i was in high school. sad really. it weights heavy on my mind at times. i still pray but not like i should. this is my first post here and i feel sort of uplifted just sharing what i have with you all. maybe you'll see me around from time to time. thanks for taking the time to read my post. dave

Been with "The Witness" here in Hot Springs for 15 years. Its comprised of folks from about 40 different churches in the area and we present a musical passion play each summer. Very inter-denominational. www.witnessproductions.com

I was made to attend church while growing up. The trend back then was to frighten you into believing that the end of time was upon us and that unless you went to the alter that night the rapture would probably come and you would be lost. Fear was the tactic rather than love or service to humanity. It was an Assembly Of God church and revivals were held often. Members of the church would walk back through the isles during alter call and try to lead people to the alter so they could get saved. It was scary but later the practice soured me on that type of church services. I was to grow up and learn that the word "rapture" was not in the Bible that they used. It seemed that many got saved anew during most revivals. Demoninations? If belonging to one is a critera for entering heaven then this man is not going to make it. Serving God to me is not a public gathering named and by design almost certain to seperate rather than unite. I have heard far to many wrong comments about those old Camolites, Catholics, Jews, etc. etc. Next, someone will use their imagination to say that there will be many heavens and that there you will be among your own demonination. BTW, my intent here is not to anger you. But to point out why so many are now ignorning organized churches.

But to point out why so many are now ignorning organized churches. Unfortunately, this is the case in my opinion. God is loving and good and wants to bring us into relationship with him. The motivation to becoming a Christian should be a life that is abundant and joyful. Fear tactics for coming to God, regardless of good intentions, seem out-of-place to me when considering all God did for us to have relationship with Him. I attend and serve in a Southern Baptist Church but am intensily non-demoninational. There are no non-denominational congregations near where I live.

I am a member and am a pastor intern at an emerging church (interdenominational) and go to a Presbyterian seminary. I guess that makes me just confused. I fall much more in line with the Prespyterian/reformed view though. I am working at the church I am because I feel that this is where God wants me right now. It is a good chruch, conservative for an emmerging chruch, we planted it Sept. 2007.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Without Him we are estranged from God and actually at emnity with Him. All who love the God who sent His son to die for our sins are my brethren. Being brethren we are to love each other with the love of Christ. Christianity is not a faith with no boundaries. It is through the Bible that we can come to know the truth of God but it is through the Spirit that we come to love that God. Someone's church affilliation means nothing to me. We are born into this world for relationship. If someone, no matter what denomination, loves the biblical Jesus then he is my brother whether I believe that he is wrong about some doctrine or not. We who love him are of one faith, one batism and of one accord. We are all one in Christ Jesus.........Doug

I agree with Doug Edwards. We're all justified in the sight of God by faith in the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. Denominations don't mean a thing. Jesus does! May the Lord bless all you good ole boys out there. Remember, Be ready to share the faith in season and out of season. Pastor Zen

I am a member of a non-denominational Bible Church. but I prefer to be known as a Christian - period. " I am a friend to all who fear You, to all who follow Your precepts." - Psalm 119:63. That's the group I belong to.
