Just back from opening morning here in southern Indiana. At 8:20 I took a 20.5# gobbler with a 10" beard. What made it special is that he was my first with a muzzleloading shotgun. At 25 yards it blew him backwards into a flapping heap. This gun adds a whole new dimension to Turkey hunting. Looking forward to next year...

Congrats for a successful hunt. Using a muzzle-loading shotgun is definitely different and I imagine more challenging in some ways. For now I am still partial to using modern equipment in this area. Ed

Congrats on the kill. So far I have only been able to make 3 gobble. I got all 3 within range, but they were all 2 year old birds with approx. 8" beards. I want either a jake or a trophy gobbler not an average bird like these 3.
