Are you using the .660 Jelly Head?
What is your exact set-up? (Gun, bbl length, scope, mount)
How many kill hits do you get on a turkey head target at 50 yards?
Not the .660 for my gun. The .660 is the right one for a 870 as you mentioned, but I am shooting the Browning Gold and it is back bored so the Jelly Head for it is .670. That makes the constriction the same as a Remmy with the .660.
My Browning Gold is a 3" with 26" barrel and has the Mossy Oak Obession finish. Scope is a Nikon and is mounted on the B Square mount.
Never have checked the pellet count on head/neck target. I used to but now days I just always shoot and record pellets in a 9" circle (paper plate) at 40 yds.
My rule of thumb used to be a minimum of 125 pellets at 40 yds would make a good 45 yd gun.
This load kinda blows that, pellet counts with this load on pie plate at 40 has been over 200 every shot tested (5 so far). Costs a lil much for patterning, but after killing a bird that far I intend to do some more shooting at 50 and 60 yds to see how consistent it stays.
Oh yea, the Nikon Turkey scope is as good as any out there.

Yeah, I can only imagine it is going to jar a few fillings loose!
I hope with a Sims pad and my Past magnum shield it will not be too terribly brutal. If so I'll just put a small sand bag inbetween as well.

Savage Shooter,
I was looking for some info on Nitro Ammo and found this on another forum about the Triplex loads:
I don't know how much truth there is in this but, it sure is sort of discouraging that they may be putting a load that is 65% #8 & #9 bird shot in their loads.
Next time you pattern one, please let us know how tiny the holes are in the paper.
