My Son In Law is visiting from Germany and he has been doing a lot of work that by rights the timber people should have done. He and Jim who has a cabin and hunting rights on our place are preparing me a turkey blind that will basically a burlap bag material stretched arount four posts in a manner that will enable me to pull my Chuck Wagon and be pretty well concealed. I can call or shoot from the sides or through the front. They have been putting out a lot of food for wildlife and seeing many deer and turkey. Hopefully, I can get up there and do a bit of looking in a couple days. Mom is making me stay inside until after I have taken all the antibiotics. I am getting restless.Ben

Hope that all goes well during the knee replacements for your wife. When it comes right down to it hunting is just a hobby and a good thing to do when other things are taken care of. I think now they can do those types of surgury without creating a lot of long term recovery. I do wish you both the best. Ben

Ben,
Sorry that the loggers did not complete the job to your satisfaction. I used to work in the woods and am sad to say that people were often dissatisfied with what was left. I never was the boss, just a peon.
I would like to see a picture of your blind when completed.
Scott

I will get a picture of the blind and post it soon. Man have we been getting the rain. All the streams and rivers are full and this county got above 12 inches of rain in two days. On the timber cutters leaving things less than they promised to do before starting. I have another 20 acres to be cut that is more or less prime and easy to get to. Plus a neighbor has asked if I could recommend this crew to cut a track of 350 acres. The group that did mine ask me yesterday if I was going to let them cut the twenty and give them a good word for the 350? I was forthright and honest with them. I explained how they failed to live up to our verbal contract and that I had to get others to clean it up. "I am sorry, but our business is finished and I cannot recommend you to others. They then offered to go back and do whatever I wanted done. I explained that it was already done and our business was over. Someone said that if you gave Jesus Christ a Chain Saw he would be stealing before he cut three tracks of timber. No long term harm is done and in a year or so the place will be as good as ever for wildlife. I have ordered a propane heater designed to keep golf carts warmer then usual. I will install that in the Chuck Wagon and maybe it will permit me to be comfortable. Ben
