Muzzle loading season opens in October in my zone for bear. Since several are using my feeder during daylight hours I may just try my ML10-II for one. Just put another five hundred pounds of corn and 16 percent horse feed in the feeder today. That will last about a month. Baiting bear is legal here. My problem is that I consider these animals as pests and wouldn't want the hide or meat. I know one woman who claims to love bear meat so perhaps her freezer has room. I know if I remove one another two or three will come in and eat the feed I put out. I guess feeding the undesirables is all part of the game. I continually ask myself why they wanted to restock these stinking destructive animals in the area. Few people get to view them and the only talk I hear about them is negative. Game wardens are bothered continually trapping and moving them. Oh well, Maybe I just like to complain and gripe about something. But if someone outthere wants to bear hunt on my place there is no fee and the welcome mat is out.

They are available but I don't know the cost. Try googling Arkansas Game and Fish bubba. If you are interested I will check that out for you and let you know.

If they raise the price because of bubba then I will offer a reward for a dead bear equal to the fee.

Bear season opens here on the 10,15 and 25 of September. We have one tag for the 15 and one for the 25. I hope to fill the 15th next weekend. My wife took a nice one there last year.
Hound hunting is a longer session of excitment, but this baiting can be pretty good for a long period of boredom followed by a quick jolt of adrenaline.
I knew of a lady that tanned bear hides hair off. She braided some nice dog leads and them little horsey whip things. Don't know where she is now.
Mr Ozark, properly cooled and handled bear meat is usually very good. But some bears are like some hogs, they are not fit to eat no matter how you took care of the meat or prepared it

Ozark, I may just take you up on your bear hunt offer. Wife is going to be gone to California in Nov leaving me and our vicious 8# Pomeranian to fend for ourselves. We might just sneak up there for a visit during the last half of the month. Bear season is closed in area 4 where our deer camp is located.
