While I am here I might as well say I am still looking for some 10 gauge ammo to buy if anybody has some they wanna sell.

I also love the 10 Gauge, but the ammo can and is expensive. This is the reason I reload mine. I use Remington 3 1/2 inch hulls. But I guess the reloading bit should go on the reloading board.

Never having owned or fired a 10Ga it would be interesting to hear of a comparison with a 12GA. from an owner who has used both. Ed T

Ed I have only owned my 10 for a few weeks now. I have shot a few ducks and 1 goose with it. So far I like it better then a 3.5 in 12 gauge for waterfowling. It seems to be softer shooting and so far at least it puts them down.

I've got a friend who hasa a 10 gauge. I've fire it a couple of times and didn't find it pleasurable. Maybe it's different if you're hunting and don't notice the recoil as much. Think I'll stick with my 870 12 gauge.

My Rem sp10 is a 12 lb ( ithink that is what the website says) and is gas operated. Much more pleasant to shoot then my 870 with heavy waterfowl loads, imo.

The one that I shot is gas operated auto loader. We were shooting at some targets at the range for the sake of shooting it. I've always found that the felt recoil is always less when shooting at game.

Yep, for the same payload/same speed, the shotgun with the biggest bore will recoil less. The extra weight of the 10 ga. helps too.
I've got two 12 gauges that have overbored 10 ga. barrels, does that count? ;D
