I think I might buy a customized and tricked out 1911 clone in 10mm,preferably a dbl stack like a Para Ordnance. But who knows, I love them all ! Maybe a nice Browning High power, or a nickle plated python, or a Freedom arms 44 mag, or one of the SW classic remakes, or a 7mm-08 bolt gun, or a 4 barrel set HK pocket pistol, or a ....... ;D

I think that I would go with Rman and a 10mm. Make mine either a single stack 1911 or a cz97 style tricked out by one of my local gunsmiths. Maybe a new set of single action vaqueros or baretta stampedes to get into cowboy action shooting. Maybe a tricked out hi power. Oh heck with it can you add another 0 to the 1000. Craig

{"I had a hankerin for a ruger cowboy gun, until I held a freedom arms, the ruger is an economy car, the freedom arms is a caddy. "}
I'm not up on Freedom now but I know years back they used a leaf style hammer spring as did Dakota and many others. They have a nasty habit of being knocked off by the recoil and effectively putting you out of business until you disassemble and get everything back in place again. That is the biggest drawback to some of these guns, the fit and feel may be perfect but if they are unreliable, then they are useless.
I've owned and still do many Rugers. I've yet to have any one of them not perform as advertised and never had one fail for any reason. The only quirk I have is on my wife's P-94, optional rear sights of varying hight are not available anywhere to adjust the POI. I have to make one custom to fit, granted it'll spit lead of any loading without jam. If I had a buck for every stove pipe I had in my 1911...I could buy another one. Love my SA 1911 but she's gotta have hot ammo to cycle reliably but that's mostly because I have the heavy duty springs in it so I cannot fault the gun.
I'm a big fan of the 45 acp and would not have any other choice for a primary carry piece in combat. For CCW I kinda prefer my CZ-52 simply because it is a little smaller and lighter yet packs plenty of put-down power despite the small bullet the velocity makes up for alot.
Since the 45 GAP came out, I wonder why no one added 1/8" to the ACP case and put some more velocity into the 230 gr.

I have a lot of handguns, 460, 500 Mags, 454 Casull and 45 Colts. I have several carry guns and a few custom hunting guns. But I would like a .500 Linbaugh with a 5 inch barrel with all the trimmings, I know I would have to put in a bunch more than that $1000... LOL

I'd buy ANOTHER Kimber. Probably one of the Eclipse models. I've always wanted a 1911 in 10mm too....

I had a 10mm back when the ammo was hot. If a 1026 S&W in good shape appears at a good price I might not be able to resist. Been thinking know about 1911 in 9X23.

I've kinda had a desire for a bolt action pistol. XP-100 maybe a Fireball or a Jet or a Bee. Heck the screen s starting to black out I think I need some air.

I almost chose "something I left out". I would think that a Contender or Encore would be cool as a smokeless muzzleloading pistol. But I don't know if there is enough "meat" there to thread a plug....even .45 cal.
So, I picked the hunting revolver. A nice .44 Mag would be nice with a 5 inch barrel.

I'd buy two Ruger Chargers. And spend rest on clips and ammo. Should take several days to stop grinning from all the fun I'd have!
