1I just had should surgery and will not be able to pull my bow back this year. I was wondering what I had to do to get a permit in Michigan. I am going hunting either way. I wont stay out of the wood for a injury. dewey

Here is the Michigan application.Check it out. The "full use of ONLY one arm" is catchy. I guess if you have full use of one arm and NOT full use of teh etrh you are good to go. The big catch is "permanently" disabled. Good luck and let us know how you make out.. www.michigan.gov/documents/PR9134_SPECIAL_HUNT_APPL_27240_7.pdf

If you look at the app. it says modificatin but not the use of a crossbow. I dont think they will call me permanently disabled and even if they did I dont think I could use a crossbow by reading this. It looks to me like I am screwed for this season, unless I just go for it with a crossbow. I love to deer hunt , but I dont want to get into trouble. thanks for the info dewey

in the past, a note from a physical therapist was required stating that you werent able to perform with a regulart bow & arrow. Perhaps that has changed, but that is what it was not too long ago.
When I had lung surgery, I looked into it, as my quad muscle was cut in half to perform the lung surgery. I pull alot less pounds now, otherwise I get spasms in my upper back.
not good trying to be quiet and have a muscle spasm !
