I was out twice today and saw four deer this morning, and heard two more. I had one doe within 15 yards but behind some brush. She was too small to harvest anyway. This evening we got into the woods too late and ran a buck and three doe out of a partially cleared field. Boy we have a lot of deer this season. So how did you guys/gals fair on the first day?

Have seen several Deer on several outings but the weather has been extremely hot. The season is young. Plenty time. Just starting to cool down.

Had one six pointer under the stand. He would have been an eight, but he didn't have any browtines.
Passed...
7 hen turkeys came close, but not close enough.

A six pointer. That is my size. ;D Or what I usually end up with anyway. But I bet that tenderloin would have been great with some hot biscuits.........man!

He was a good 1 1/2 year old or a poor 2 1/2 year old. I'm guessing the former instead of the latter. It's way to early in the season to shoot him. Now if that had been his daddy or momma or sister - it would have been "loins and biscuit" time. The turkeys will screw up too one of these days and get too close and then it will be fried turkey breast time.. Golly, I'm getting hungry....
