TenPoint to Launch Innovative Slider Crossbow
Under New 6 Point Brand at 2006 ATA Show
Suffield, OH. TenPoint Crossbow Technologies will launch two innovative crossbows, the Slider and the Pro Slider, under a new 6 Point Crossbows brand at the Archery Trade Association show in Atlanta this coming January.
The two crossbows feature a sliding compound riser and limb assembly that locates and locks in three separate locations while nested between an upper and lower extruded and precision machined aluminum barrel. The result is an innovative crossbow with a choice of three distinct draw weights, power strokes, and speeds.
According to TenPoint’s Chief Operating Officer, Rick Bednar, “The Slider concept evolved – like all TenPoint innovations - from customer input. The Slider is a high performance crossbow made for multiple users – small, medium, and large so to speak. Youngsters can quickly slide and lock it in its 125 pound, seven-inch power stroke position. With the bow assembly located closer to the shooter’s body, the weight and balance shift to an ideal position for a small person. In this position it is also easy to reach the string when drawing the bow.”
When locked in its “long” position, the Pro Slider offers very adult performance with a 175- pound peak draw weight and speeds exceeding 310 feet-per-second.
The Pro Slider is powered by cams and built with TenPoint’s new high-performance HL limbs and new RollerTouch trigger. The Slider bow assembly features wheels and is equipped with TenPoint’s proven TL-4 limbs and its improved DropLatch trigger featuring a MIM trigger stem with a smoother operating surface for a better pull.
Like all TenPoint models, the 6 Point Slider and Pro Slider trigger assemblies will include ambidextrous automatic safeties and DFI (dry-fire-inhibitor) mechanisms. Both models will be packaged with scopes, quivers, and arrows and both will accept TenPoint’s incomparable ACUdraw and ACUdraw 50 cocking devices and TenPoint’s popular SteddyEddy monopod system
“While corporately including these new bows within the TenPoint Crossbow Technologies’ family, we are grouping them as a series under a new 6 Point Crossbows brand because they are fundamentally different than our TenPoint models - or other conventional crossbow models for that matter.” Bednar said. “We think this new concept requires a distinctive identity.”
“We are looking forward to having our customers test the Slider and Pro Slider in the Demo Area at the Atlanta ATA Show.” Bednar said. “6 Point Crossbows will be affordably priced and will perform with the same dependability, durability, and accuracy that TenPoint Crossbows are known for.”
“We think of 6 Point as a new addition to our TenPoint family. Same genetics and bloodline – but, like most new siblings, born with a personality of its own.” Bednar concluded.
Note: 6 Point logo and 3D CAD rendering of the Slider are available for downloading on TenPoint’s website using the following address: (http://www.tenpointcrossbows.com/6point)
