My friends at American Whitetail Targets are marketing an arrow rest that the arrow is not touching anything when at full draw. It is called - the AIR REST. Can anyone see an application of this concept on a crossbow [/u] Check it out at.. www.air-rest.com/home.html

I do not see how you could make it work on a x-bow. The bolt is ment to slide down the rails. if you raise the front you also need to raise the rear trigger asembley so the arrow lays flat. If you retain the present location on the rear string mount the bolt would come off the bow very unstable ( rear of bolt would have up and down movement)causing noise loss of speed and accuracy.
They talk about making the arrow lenth longer or shorter by 1/8 inch to make the rest work correctly. This would not be a problem with an x-bow because the anchor point is mechanical but I would think that would be real difficult to do every time with a compound bow in hunting conditions. I do not see a way to use this on an x-bow unless the bow was built for this rest or had a removeable shooting rail so as not to affect the levelness of the bolt.
