In less than two weeks archery season opens here in Ar. A couple of days ago I gathered up my arrows, Scoped Horton Dakota crossbow and after waxing the string, lubricating the rail I put a target 20 yards away and fired my first practice arrow since the close of the 2005 season. Impact happened to be precisely on my aiming point. I shot a couple more bolts to confirm everything and now all that is left to do is take all this to my blind and check the propane heater and bottle. 20 yards from my spot is a feeder that has been getting a lot of activity. I will have drink and sandwiches along with crackers, potted meat and hot sause within reach. It will be read awhile, watch awhile, eat awhile and then hopefully I will press the Push to talk button on the radio and say: "The fun is over for me, Now it is time for you to come and field dress my deer." Age and poor health has its advantages. Good hunting.....
