What do you consider to be the best crossbow scope and why? Tru-glow has a lighted reticle scope that looks interesting. All of the scopes I've used seem to be of lower quality. I'd like a really good 2X7 with at least 5 range lines and at least 36mm. Would be good to have good glass and guts. IR or firefly would be icing on the cake. Maybe the Tru-glow is quite good - anyone here with experience with it or suggestions?

Doug, Thank you - very interesting. I am surprised at the speeds of some of the higher line x-bows. They seem slow to me.

I like a fixed 4 power regular rifle scope. Why because I have used two different Horton Dakota cross bows successfully with that type scope. The Horton Dakota has a very good elevation system that simply moves the scope and the scope mount angle up or down. On mine one click of adjustment is eight yards and I have mine adjusted so the 2 is twenty yards, 3 is 28 yards,4 is 36 yards and 5 equals 44 yards. The clicks would naturally change if I changed bolts, vanes or broadheads. Today I moved my feeder to a distance of 24 yards from my shooting window. If deer are between me and the feeder its the 2 setting. If beyond but near it will be the 3. I don't know how the scopes made specifically made for crossbows work but I believe that unless the yardage lines are adjustable the accuracy of the lines will depend on speed and weight of what you are using. The two bows I have use were both very particular about the consistency of the bolts and the broadheads. I don't try fifty yard shots because I don't trust myself or how the wind will move the bolt away from aiming point plus in my case they are going to come to the feeder and that is a known distance and a sure shot. They don't jump a string at 20-25 yards.

Ben, The Parker doesn't have a dial-a-range. The scope has 4 lines(20,30,40,50). It really works. The Tru-Glow scope seems interesting. That was an excellent article/web-site.
