I have a Ten Point TL-7 on lay-away. But I can opt for a Ten Point Pro Fusion if I change my mind. The TL-7 (165#) is rated at 280+ fps. And the Pro Fusion (175#) is rated at 305+ fps. Here's my question. To achieve these velocities, what grain arrow/tip would be used? Also, I notice where SW's Parker Magnum 175# is getting 330+ fps. And the Ten Point 175# is only rated at 305+fps. Wouldn't there be the same thrust? Why not the same velocity? Thanks. (I am crossbow illiterate)

(I am crossbow illiterate) Kevin the manufacturer should have the specs posted on their site for the equipment used to achieve the advertised velocities. The Parker may be faster due to: limb configuration, longer power stroke, cam shape, etc.

:)Kevin, Power stroke and whether the string drags on the shelf are two major factors. ALSO, the design of the cams. Just like all 60# bows with the same draw length don't shoot the same speed, neither do crossbows. The Tenpoint/previously Hunter crossbows are very accurate and are excellent crossbows. The Parkers are extremely fast and light. They are like carbines compared to rifles. The 10-pts are easier to shoot accurately, IMO, but the Parkers can do very well also. Speed isn't everything, especially with a good scope and a lazer range finder. I would buy a Parker again, due to value for money(Parkers cost quite a bit less than 10-pts). If I could have a top of the line either, I'd take the 10-pt. Overall, I like the 10-pts more than any other x-bow.

I shoot the exomax @ 350'. Just limbs and string. No cables or pulleys. The speed is in the power stroke.
