Have you ever considered adoption a young man in his 80's? Do you work for free and mow grass and split firewood and keep your room clean with out complaining? If so, the answer would be yes. ;D

Beautiful rifle. Without a scope or iron sights head shots are going to be a little difficult the first few trips out. I was just envious of the rifle and the thoughts of being young. I have a delicious recipe for a squirrel caserole that we have been enjoying occasionally for many years. Will put it in the wild game recipes for you if you are interested. Ozark

The casserole recipe is posted in the wild game recipe section. It is a bit of problem to prepare but it is well worth it. Ben

I took my .17 Cal. Marlin up to my hunting cabin a couple days ago. I use it to thin out pests and it is still dead on and still super accurate. Mine is a Marlin with the heavy barrel and a leupold scope mounted on it. Every time I use it I am amazed at how accurate that caliber and rifle shoots. I have rim fire .22s and a .22 Mag. The .17 Cal. HMR has made the others obslete. I love to shoot it but the pests only gets one fleet experience with it. Mine isn't as pretty as yours tar-12 but it sure isn't for sale or trade. Ben

Tar12, You will find that your Mark II can shoot some amazing 100 yard groups. I have an older 22cal Mark II bull barrel, non-accutrigger that I added an SSS trigger to. After installation of that trigger and using CCI standard velocity long rifle rounds can consistantly put all shots into a dime at 50 yards. 100 YARD groups come in around 3/4-1" depending on wind velocity. ;D Great squirrel gun. However, I now use my Savage 17HMR for those loooooong range head shot's. ;D

I had considered the .17 cal.,but after witnessing my buddies poor shooting skills using one,it reminded me of the devastating power of a .22 mag.He hit one on the front shoudler and it was hard to distinguish the front half as anything edible!LOL! If you are after blood, guts and gore and plain ole dead, they are great! You are right Jack, thay are very accurate.I am very impressed with other friends accu-trigger Mark II.I witnessed a .5 group at a hundred with it,very impressive for a .22 rimfire!

If you plan to eat the kills one must confine the shots to the head with the 17HMR. What you have tar12 should provide you with exactly what you need. I use mine for pests only like crows for example. I have been waiting for a coyote but they don't like to come close to me. lol
