OK here is the details. i got a Taurus tracker in .357 mag for my up coming wedding anniversary. stumbled on a used one at this store. looked at it (just not real good ,mistake #1) and it look ed nice. did notice that it was a little snug on opening the chamber. asked the sales person and said it was checked by their in store gun smith and he said it was just because it wasn't shot much and is still tight. OK no scoring on cylinders and very clean. OK bring it home and noticed the yoke doesn't line up perfect with frame and barrel. take it to my gun smith and he sys it looks slightly bent but cylinder turns free in frame and MAY be OK. He said i should shoot it and see if it groups OK.
OK so i want to go out the next day and shoot it. i notice the windage is all the way to the right so i go to put it center so i can sight it in and it is stiff to turn. OK i get it centered and i go to move it back and forth a little to make sure it seated and the sight doesn't move i take it 2 clicks and it doesn't move but it gets snug again and then it moves. i take it back to store and their "gun smith" and he says its fine thats the way it is. but i know its not normal cause i have other Taurus's with same sight and its not even close. mine moves smooth with positive stops at each click. i tell him this and he still insists its OK. i point out to him look the bushing on the opposite side of screw is moving in and out when the sight doesn't move and maybe thats the problem he looks at it and again says its fine it stops good at each extreme. frustrated and angry i said fine and left. not good to get into a shouting match in a store with a pistol laying there. makes people nervous.
OK so i called the store manager after i get home and explain what happened and he says bring it back and we will send it to Taurus and let them look at it and let them decide. he apologizes for the problem and says we will try and fix it. now this store give a 1 year warranty on all there guns and IMO they didn't want to honor it at first. well lets wait and see what happens.

Good luck! I bought a new 85 and the first time at the range had three different problems. Took it back and the gun shop owner repaired it instead of sending it in. The problems were trigger spring stuck, cylinder wont close and i had to clean out the machine shavings before i could load it.
I have another PT22 that misfires and i sent it in 3 different times and they replaced the trigger and transfer bar, sent it back and the first round misfire, sent it back to them and the re adjusted the firing pin, sent it back to me and it would misfire 1-2 rounds in a clip, sent it back and they said the couldn't find any problem and sent it back to me.
Needless to say I WILL NEVER BUY A TAURUS AGAIN!!!!!! THEIR GUNS ARE CHEAP MADE AND THEIR REPAIR SERVICE SUCKS!!!!
I hope you have a better experience than I did. Mike

whyohe, how is the warranty issue going, I just purchased a pair of used pt92 pistols, and while they shoot fine, I am kind of curious how the warranty works?

OK i kept up with Taurus and they finished it last Friday. they said the barrel was bent and some thing with the cylinder and the sight was bad. they said they repaired it and the store should have it Monday. i called the store Monday after noon and they did have it BUT they wouldn't give it back to me until the in store gun smith came in today? makes me wonder there! Taurus said they sent a paper with all the info on what was repaired and why with the gun so i want to see if the store actually gives it to me and if they fess up to what was wrong. i have to say the way most of the Taurus reps treated me was very good. one was a bit short with me but hey we all have had those days. when i get it back today ill look it over and let you know how the repairs look and specifically what was found wrong. oh by the way i told Taurus my fears about the dealer and the rep said that if they didn't give it to me that all i had to do is call them and they would mail me a copy. mike I'm sorry you had such bad experiences but SO FAR I'm OK with it.
