I have a 50cal omega that has been shooting 3 shot groups all in the same hold at 100 yards using 150g of 777 pellets and 300g TC Shock Waves. I posted earlier that when sighted in 3 3/4" high at 100 yards I was dead center for aim with the first circle at 200 yards and received a 1 3/4" group. I finally had a chance to find somewhere I could shoot over 200 yards today. From what Nikon gave me for measurements I should have been about 2-3" low at 250 yards with the 2nd circle and around 4" high at 300 yards with the 3rd circle. With the last circle I should have been a few inches high at 350 yards. Well, the first group of 3 shots were at 250 yards. I used the 2nd circle and centered it on a 4" square. I ended up with a 3 shot, 4" group, one which was inside of the 4" square I was aiming at and the other 2 just to the right of it, both shots were about an inch high of dead center. Circle number 2 was dead on! I next backed off to 300 yards. I centered my 300 yard target in the 3rd circle and laid 2 shots almost an inch apart just missing perfect dead center by 3/4" of inch! The 3rd shot was to the right a little over an inch out side of my square aiming target for another 4" group! And once again perfect height alignment for the circle. Well, I new I was pushing my luck and wanted to keep going since there was one circle left. I backed out to 350 yards and thought I would be shooting around 6" high at this distance. I shot 5 times at a 10"x10" box that I had my target on, only hitting it 3 times... I finally found out where my groups started opening up. Not wanting to give up, I grabbed a paper "elk" target (the whole reason for this feat) and set it up for the task. The elk on the target is not life size but would be close to the size of a Whitetail Deer. I believe the target is made by outers and are called a "3D" targets being you can see the vitals. Anyways, I centered the circle perfectly in the middle of its body with the center aiming point being right behind its shoulder, lining up with its heart. I shot 4 times. 2 shots were an inch apart both missing dead center(heart), landing to the right about 3". The 3rd shot hit a bone in front of the main shoulder bone and would have passed through its throat. The 4th shot backboned the animal. The 4 shot group measured 12" and all shots measured 6" away from my center aim point of the heart. Every one would have harvested the animal. I don't plan on having to shoot 350 yards on an elk but its nice to know I can if needed. I know alot of posters are worried about penatration and kinetic engergy...as far as penetration goes, I had a 9" log in back of my target that I blew completely through at 300 yards! Out to 300 I could use this rig for coyote hunting! Even though I will probably never shoot this far, 350 is the farthest I would shoot this combo for minute of Elk as the groups were opening rather quickly after 300.
