I have been contemplating the purchase of a Rock River arms EOP varmint with a 24 in barrel.Do any of y'all have experience with AR style varmint rifles? Also do any of you know what the legalities concerning suppressors for varmint hunting might be?I plan on hunting at night and thought this may be be a good consideration so as not to disturb my neighbors.

The RRA EOP is a good weapon as well as the Bushmaster super varminter. Suppressors are classified the NFA and require a 200 dollar tax stamp and you must go through a class 3 or class 2 Sot, dealer. Plus whatever requirements your home state has. While it is nice to consider your neighbors, in most states it is illegal to use suppresors for hunting of any kind.

I have a 24" Bushmaster V-Match that I have used on several prairie dog trips. It is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

My AR is pieced together. The set up that I normally shoot from the bench and varmit hunt with is mostly RRA parts. The actually upper reciever is a DPMS low pro. The barrel and bolt carrier assembly are from RRA. The barrel is 1:8 and has their chamber, and it has shot several 1/4MOA groups with bullets in the 40~50 gr weight range, and keeps 75gr bullets under 1/2 MOA. I have a second upper is a national match from RRA, and it shoots equally as well and has been used to win a few service rifle matches.
