Has everyone started practicing yet? In my state, bow season opens in mid Sept. I've just started knocking the rust off my bow and my back muscles. I always forget how fun it is to shoot. I am an average shot, so the shooting is free. It only costs money if you are really good (read Robin Hood), or really bad!

You bet I am. Went to a 50 target 3-D shoot this last weekend. Our club had one last month and two more next month. The target bow is put away and the hunting bow is out. I'm thinking about a two pin sight system this year. So far it looks promising. Everything I am using for these shoots is hunting equipment. Just change from field points to broad heads and I'm good to go.

What are you shooting for arrows and tips? I just converted to a one pin sight. It works on pendulum, but not the kind that automatically moves. I haven't calibrated it yet, but after I do, I can move it to a known yardage that I wanted to shoot. Right now, I just have it sighted in at 20 yds, and it is pretty good out to 30.

My arrows are Gold Tip XT Hunter graphite. The Broadheads are Cabelas Lazer Supreme three blade, 100 grain. The field points are also 100 grains. The bow is a Hoyt Magna Tec, single cam model. I got this set up about 5 years ago.

I try to shoot a little all year round. I just enjoy the relaxation. Going to try Easton ST AXIS nano carbon tipped with G5 Strykers. They should shoot well from my Hoyt LazerTec.

Been shooting after work for 2 weeks now. Last 2 weekends me and the hunting partner have revamped 3 stands and set up a few more. We still have to check about 15 stands for safety issues and shooting lane trimming. Never know what tree growth does to a stand until you check. Will have 20 or so spots by mid October opener here in WNY.
Deer populations look good. I drew 2 antlerless permits that add to the either sex bow/muzzleloader tag, the regular season buck tag AND the antlerless only bow/muzzleloader tag.
If things work out that means a buck during bow, a buck during gun, and 3 does mixed in however I want.
It's time to tie up loose ends around here.

I start shooting as soon as the snow thaws in the spring, so been at it since April. I have been shooting out of my portable stand in the back yard for the past 2 months. Opening day is 9/13 and very much looking forward to it.

Our archery season is on now. Started Monday. Hope to get out next week. I don't have to worry about sore muscles. They're already sore from all the golf I've been playing. One shot should be OK for me, I hope

RAF,
I got lucky the first morning here in NH 9/15. At 7:00 AM I was sitting in my climging stand in a spot I had hunted before, but was second choice. It became my first choice when I woke up late. Anyway at 7:00 AM I was really feeding the mosquitos, and thinking that I maybe shouldn't have taken the day off. Then here caoms an adult doe walking by at 15 yards. I shot her back in the shoulders and whe weirdest thing happened. It paralyzed her front end. I think it pinned her shoulders. I finished her off with a neck shot just to speed things up, but it probably wasn't necessary. So now my freezer has a good start, and I too am off to the golf course. My other passion.
