In a month or so the weather will begin to cool down, the leaves will begin to turn yellow and the deer hunter will enter the prepretory phase of deer hunting. This is where the real joy starts and may well be the best part of the sport. The sporting goods section will fill up with thousands of items for hunters to look over and often reach decisions to buy. Tree stands, trail cameras, scent blockers, new model rifles, scopes, binoculars, range finders, bows, arrows, camo clothing and the list goes on and on. Hunters will purchase a few boxes of ammunition even though they have several partial boxes left from past years.
We need to go sight in although we know the rifle and scope is on the money already. Reloaders will hit the reloading room and create some stuff that deer simply cannot even wiggle if hit with.
A lot of scouting will take place even for those who are restricted to less than three acres of space. Some will travel to far off places passing many trophies in route to where they expect to score that trophy of a lifetime. Although I am confined to a power chair and don't have enough breath to be a real threat to a fly that gets in the house, I am looking at a pair of good hiking boots. I am already beginning to power chair around the sporting goods section looking at such things as compasses and books on how to navigate the woods without getting lost. That is me. Now for you.....If you don't buy something dumb I will be badly mistaken. Even so, it is all in the arena where the joys of getting ready to go takes place every year. Ozark.
