OK so all you guy's here inventing thing's and better load's and better groups..barrel cooler's and BP wrench's and capping device's and powder container's... Here is a CHALLENGE for you. We need a palm saver that measure's load pressure... Something that slip's offer the end of the ramrod with a hole in it and a scale that measure's downward pressure! Like a fishing scale in reverse. I shoot a lot of archery and we have some scale;s that measure poundage of the bow by hooking on the string and pulling the bow back..it stops at the highest poundage. Now if we had a scale inside a chamber that measured by the amount of pressure put on the spring we could see how much pressure we are putting on the ramrod with every load . we need a compression spring scale in a unit that will fit offer the top of the rod and have a scale on it we can read... Therefore knowing that every load was seated at the appropriate poundage..Thus increasing consistancy..therefore helping make accuracy more consistant... I have a busy mind and schedule..But with some of the GREAT ideas and home brew project's I have seen here. I suspect it wont be long before someone takes this idea and runs with it. Just remember when it all comes together WHO had the idea. Help us all out here Thank You Very Much For Reading. Drop

12point, a couple of years ago I modified the very same archery pull-scale you mentioned and used it to measure resistance of various combinations of bullets and sabots down the barrel. What you are proposing is really sophisticated compared to that.
Of course, no scale is needed for sabotless loading.

Heh Drop, Why not just but the butt of that gun on a plain old bathroom scale and read how much it goes up as you push down?

I intend to measure the pressure to load my sabot's on the bathroom scale to see what fits best.. But I am talking about the range session's so I can achieve the same pressure while seating each bullet. This is to add consistency to the loading procedure. Like a clicker torque wrench.. When you hit 30 pounds of pressure it click"s...Or has a graduated scale you can read. So many here say it is important that you load with the same procedure every time ... Something like this would sure help. Drop

I looked at the Pack-Jack online..It has a compression spring in it but no measurements.... If we are talking about precision shooting here then something of this nature would sure help. I know when I first came to this board the "seasoned" Savage shooters mostly stated that bullet seating pressure uniformity was important... I personally don't shoot frequently enough to "KNOW" that I just put 30# pressure on that load...So now.."what" just caused that flier?.... Drop
